Disease: Mycosis fungoides
Description of Condition:
As a Serbian doctor, I’d treated countless patients—but when diagnosed with mycosis fungoides, a rare cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, I felt helpless. Local treatments all failed; my skin lesions worsened, and my quality of life plummeted. By chance, I found Dr. Li Xin’s (from Shanghai Yueyang Hospital) paper detailing her TCM success with this disease—a ray of hope. I emailed her with my lesion photos, tongue coating details and diet habits; she responded carefully, adjusted prescriptions over time, and I started her herbs in February 2022. Treatment Process:
In February 2022, I had a remote consultation with Dr. Li Xin via email—she collected details about my skin lesions, tongue appearance and diet, then formulated a personalized TCM herbal prescription for me. When I traveled to Shanghai for an in-person treatment in December 2023, Dr. Li applied TCM’s “four diagnostic methods” (inspection, auscultation-olfaction, inquiry, palpation) and diagnosed my syndrome as “qi-blood deficiency with internal accumulation of damp-heat”; she adjusted the herbal formula based on this in-person assessment to match my current physical condition and incorporated acupuncture and moxibustion to regulate my immune function and enhance overall health. After the treatment, Dr. Li also provided detailed recommendations on daily care and diet to prevent symptom recurrence.
Recovery Situation:
Immediately after the stent implantation, my chest tightness subsided dramatically. Following the TCM conditioning, the persistent dizziness that had plagued me for years improved drastically—I could even take long walks without fatigue. I’m genuinely amazed: “I have full trust in the professionalism and patience of Chinese doctors, and I’m astonished by the efficiency of Chinese healthcare. In the US, I might have waited months for such a surgery, but here it only took a few days!”
